Chem designs and supplies Corrosion Resistant Vacuum Systems
to produce suction pressures down to 0.1 Torr. They are ideal for Fine Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry applications by virtue of their reliability, simplicity, low capital costs and low maintenance requirements. They are most suitable where highly corrosive compounds are present in the suction gas and Stainless Steel is not sufficiently resistant.

Applications

For creation and maintaining vacuum ranging from 100 mm of Hg to 759.9 mm of Hg in industrial applications of Distillation, Crystallization, Filtration, Reaction, Stripping, Drying, etc.

In The Inorganic Industry - Hydrochloric Acid, Thionyle Chloride, Phosphoric, Sulphuric, etc., corrosive salts in treating minerals acid process.

In The Organic Industry - For manufacturing of Halogenated Products, Strong Acids, Pesticides, Artificial Fibres, Pharmaceuticals, etc.

Steam Jet Ejectors - Corrosion Resistant Range are used for handling, the following (but not limited to):

  • Hydrochloric Acid

  • Sulphuric Acid

  • Hydroflouric Acid

  • Phosphoric Acid

  • Hydrobromic Acid

  • Acetic Acid

  • (Mono-Di-Tri) Chloroacetic Acid

  • Carbon Tetrachloride

  • Tri & Perchloro Ethylene

  • Benzene & Its Derivatives

  • Ethyl & Methyl Chlorides

  • Sodium Chloride

  • Ferric Chloride

  • Sulphuric Hydrochloride

  • Thionyle Chloride

Condensers

Corrosion resistant Direct Contact and Indirect Contact Condensers are available for either barometric or low level operation.

Graphite is used for construction of Ejectors and Surface Condensers in all cases where corrosion and acid proof materials are not resistant enough and to minimize the capital cost of the system. Graphite offers excellent thermal conductivity and high resistance to temperature changes. The Graphite Ejectors and Condensers are manufactured from impervious graphite impregnated on both the sides by corrosion resistant resins.

Advantages

  • The most reliable of all high integrity vacuum systems on corrosive applications

  • Handles large volumes of gas while maintaining consistent vacuum

  • System with surface condenser ensures zero contamination of cooling liquid and eliminated effluent load

  • No moving parts & Low noise levels

  • Less expensive than mechanical pumps

  • Simplicity and low maintenance

  • Custom designed for high or low vacuums

  • Easy to retrofit or uprate

Materials of Construction

Steam Jet Ejectors can be constructed from exotic materials including PTFE, PVDF, Hastelloy, Graphite, Monel, etc. Indirect Contact Condensers are usually constructed from Graphite and Direct Contact Condensers from PTFE lined Carbon Steel or PVDF.
