Effluent Evaporation

The main source of pollution from distilleries is the spentwash, which is produced as a result of fermentation and distillation of the molasses. The spentwash is acidic in character having very high BOD (40,000 - 50,000 mg/l) and COD (10,000-125,000 mg/l).
