Effluent Evaporation

In pulp and paper mills, major cause of pollution is the discharge of black liquor. The effluent that emanates from the bleaching section of the mill also contributes the colour. The toxicity is another problem, which is mainly due to use of elemental chlorine during the bleaching.

Chem Process supplies Evaporation Plants for the concentration of black liquor in the pulp and paper industries.

De-aeration Systems

To remove the entrained air from the stock or the dilution water before it enters the headbox, typically two stage vacuum systems are used for de-aeration. The inlet to the first stage vacuum pump is at 27-28 HgV while the second stage pump inlet pressure is sized for a 4:1 compression ration between the first stage inlet. A precondenser between the de-aeration vessel and the first stage pump and a interstage separator between the first and second stage pump are typically used.

Steam Jet Thermocompressors

To manufacture high quality paper products, a uniform temperature distribution and continuous recycling of vapours in the drying cylinder is required. Chem Process supplies Jet Compressors which are used to control this process accurately.
